A database is an electronic, searchable store of information. The University Library subscribes to a wide range of databases produced by academic, commercial and professional bodies; supplying information which may not be publicly available through sources such as Google. Some databases only give reference details; others abstracts and some will provide full text.
A database may cover all subject areas (for example: Academic Onefile) or specialize in one subject area (for example: Medline).
