I can't access the journals?

I have been trying to access for the last week and seem to be getting this message every time I try opening to journals. University Library ERROR: There has been a problem logging you in to the digital library. This may be due to an intermittent fault or a problem with your library membership. Please try logging in 30 minutes later but if the problem persists, please contact us here for further assistance.

Answer

You can only access journals if you are a currently registered student and you do have to register every year. You can re-register via your e-vision account online. Once you have registered for the current academic year, your Library account will be updated and access restored.

The date on your student ID card is only the nominal date that your course is expected to finish so your registration can run out before this date.

If you are registered and cannot access the online materials please contact the Library. To enable us to help please provide us with the following information:

  • What are you unable to access through the library website? If you provide us with details of specific journals, articles or databases, we can test these for you and see if there is a general problem.
  • At what stage does the problem occur e.g. when you click 'View It' on the library search, when trying to open the article from the journal/database page, does it not recognise you as being logged in once you reach the journal/article/database site?
  • If you receive an error message, please let us know exactly what it says (attaching a screenshot may be helpful).
